JERUSALEM: US envoy George Mitchell sought a deal on the thorny issue of West Bank settlements yesterday as he met Israel's prime minister in a bid to pave the way to resume stalled Middle East peace talks. "We hope to bring this phase of our discussions to early conclusion and move forward in our common search for a comprehensive peace in the region," Mitchell said as the talks began with Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem.
